Carl T. Doughty
President
Starting in 1977, Carl Doughty provided tax and consulting services to the company during his five years at a CPA firm, now merged with Peat Marwick. Carl joined the company full-time in 1980 and has served as Controller, Regional Manager and Vice President. This foundation ultimately resulted in Carl's appointment as President of Pacific Plaza Hotels in March of 1999.
Carl's responsibilities include overseeing managed property operations and refurbishing, new property pre-opening tasks, cross property marketing projects, operations support and property accounting functions. In addition to day-to-day operations he has been involved in several hotel development projects during his thirty years at Pacific Plaza. Carl holds ownership in several of the Pacific Plaza's lodging properties and is the co-owner of Pacific Plaza Hotels, Inc. with CEO Tracy Wahrlich.
Industry and professional organizations in which Carl holds a membership include California Society of CPA's, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, California Lodging Industry Association and Best Western International. He is a voting member of Best Western and is past president and director for the California Lodging Industry Association.
Born in Clinton Indiana in 1949, Carl attended Indiana University and received his degree in business administration at California State University Hayward in 1975.
